2.5w Alaska LED downlight (white)
New LED bulb - brighter and faster than ever before
Based on the best-selling Rio T2 fluorescent downlight, the Alaska LED downlight uses the L1 LED lamp, which only uses 2.5w of power to give a suitable equivalent to 35w halogen downlights.
If you are looking for a 50w equivalent downlight we suggest the 3w Alaska LED range:
3w white Alaska downlight
3w satin silver Alaska downlight
3w chrome Alaska downlight
The Alaska range of low energy downlights have been thoroughly researched by the designers with the result that we can offer a one-stop solution in recessed LED downlights.
Built-in fire protection technology
At the heart of the Alaska design is the integral fire barrier material that, in the event of a fire, seals the ventilation openings and maintains the fire rating of the ceiling. In modern homes, ceilings can be constructed to give 30, 60 or 90 minute fire protection. The Alaska has been tested for all 3 ceiling types.
Being a one-piece design, no further fire hoods or other devices are required which makes this the easiest and most convenient method of installing downlights in a fire rated ceiling. These fittings have been thoroughly tested for safety and performance and are eminently suitable for the installation methods commonly used in new houses today.
Long life, low energy lighting
Employing a 2.5w LED lamp, the Alaska range offers low energy lighting in the same small package as the usual halogen fittings. In addition to saving over 90% of the electricity used by conventional halogen downlights, the low energy bulb will last for up to 20 times longer, with it's massive lamp life of 20,000 hours. It also removes a large amount of the heat that would normally be generated. There is no need to install an additional fire hood.
The colour of light generated by the new LED bulb is rated at 3000K, which is a warm white.
Better general lighting
The L1 LED spot bulb has a wider light spread (approximately 100 degrees) than most spot lights, which eliminates dark areas of the room as the light is not concentrated into small areas.
Ceiling hole diameter: 62mm
Minimum void depth: 110mm
Colour variation of LED bulbs manufactured by tp24
tp24 have recently (January 2012) contacted us to explain that the colour temperature of their LED lamps might vary between different batches. This means that some lamps may be a wamer (more yellow) or cooler (more white/blue) white than others, and any replacements whether purchased or provided free of charge under their two year guarantee may vary in colour from any previous bulb.
tp24 told us that: “we as the manufacturer will only replace the lamps due to failure and will not replace lamps due to a variance in the colour the LED lamps are sold at a very competitive price and are suitable for domestic use but due to our manufacturing process we will not guarantee that the exact colour will be replicated in every batch manufactured and supplied and as such we will under no circumstances replace lamps because of a perceived colour variance in the batches. Also please be aware that LED lamps over time will vary in colour as do any lamps.
We do of course make every endeavour to ensure that there is as little variance as possible in all batches manufactured.”
