]]> The future of lighting in your home is to be controlled by your smartphone, tablet, pc or other internet-connected / network device.

Google has announced Android@home which includes a range of devices including light bulbs, dishwashers, thermostats and other electrical devices.

The idea is that you can then control your lighting and other home gadgets from your phone but that the range of devices can also “discover, connect and communicate” with each other e.g. your alarm clock can gradually turn the lights on, and other sensor that will adjust the lights brightness depending on how much daylight there is available.
