MR11 20w for fibre optics (12v)

This is a 12v 20w MR11 spot lamp. The MR11 fitting has two straight pins that push into the lamp holder. It is also known as GU4 because the pins are 4mm apart.

This lamp has been specifically designed for use with projectors and fibre optics. It has an open front, without the usual glass cover. Because the lamp is open-fronted it is possible to touch the halogen capsule in side. You should avoid this as the natural oils in your skin can considerably reduce the lifespan of the bulb.

This 20w version of the open fronted lamp is quite rare - not many applications require the 20w lamp. The lower powered 10w open fronted MR11 bulb is much more common.
