These CES E12 Candelabra Screw cap lamps are often used in chandeliers and vintage/retro Christmas decorations. Applications for these lamps are mainly decorative, particularly where the lamp is visible.

E12 lamps have a 12mm thread, whereas the more common E14 have a 14mm base.
